Fall of 1963 or 1964 near Lopez: A man was scouting for deer on his property. As he was walking he heard the sounds of rocks being moved and thrown around violently. The rocks sounded quite large. The man moved in for a closer look and sighted a very large dark hair covered animal running away on two legs. A weeks prior the man discovered several large footprints which he dismissed as bear tracks.
