November 1998 near the R.B. Winner State Park: Two bear hunters were crossing over a bridge in their pick up when they saw what they thought was a bear sitting by a guard rail. The creature stood up on two legs standing close to 9 foot tall. The driver stunned, lost control of the truck and blew the horn of the creature. The creature turned and charged directly at the truck. The driver drove away quickly but the creature kept up with the truck, and smashed its fist into the side of the truck before running off into the forest.
